The Second Kashi Trade Fair of Xinjiang and South and Central Asia was held in the city of Kashi, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China. Over 6,000 people, including officials, Chinese and foreign businessmen visited the event, Xinhua reported.

Official figures, diplomatic representatives and businessmen from 9 countries, including Pakistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, US and Turkey participated in the fair. Moreover, 39 delegations of local authorities and businessmen came from the eastern and southern regions of China.

A representative of the fair organization committee said the fair including the products of 1,029 firms and companies. The number doubled compared to the previous year's exhibition. Among the objects displayed were machinery and electric equipment, products of oil chemical industry, agricultural products, textiles and clothing, etc.

The first fair had been held in Kashi last year. In 2005, the foreign trade turnover of Xinjiang totaled US$7.94 billion, up by 41% against 2004.
