Regardless of Beijing's motives for her release, the liberation of prominent Uighur political prisoner Rebiya Kadeer is a victory for freedom over tyranny. Her release has proven that even authoritarian regimes are susceptible to international pressure, and also shows that victory belongs to those who patiently and relentlessly fight for human rights.
