The Sultan Memet CD project has reached an important milestone. The recording and production expense of the CD (about $2500) has been fully recovered through the generous support of the sponsors and proceeds of CD sell. It is a small project with great significance. We are greatly encouraged by the support of the Uyghur community members in US and American friends. We hope this will open the door to greater cultural projects in our community. We have proven that together we can have impact on many fronts. Every little thing counts.

Take this opportunity, we would like to thank all the sponsors whose names are listed on the CD cover, Tamara and Kaiser for their generous donation, Mavlan and Abdu for their help in introducing the project to their local communities, and all the people who purchased the CD.

There are still some CDs left. In order to make it available for people outside of the United States at an affordable price, we have adjusted the price as following:

Europe: 5 EUR (minimum purchase of 2 required)
Canada: 10 CAD
Japan: $6.5 (minimum purchase of 2 required)
Australia: 6.5 AUD (Minimum purchase of 2 required)

You can purchase the CD with a credit card at meshrep.com by click on the "shop at meshrep.com" link.

It is easy to sell over 100 copies in Australia. I am hoping to buy any CD produced by Uyghur community abroad.

I bought Kurash Kusan's CD volum 1 and 5 $20 each and happy with the price, but I was not able buy the other volumes. I hope to obtain complete volumes of CDs.

Hi AusieUyghur,

Thanks for your interest in the CD. It is really a great CD if you like Uyghur folk music. Honestly, I had not listen to Uyghur music much since I moved to the states. Last year I met Sultan Memet at a private party where he performed. His music reminded me how beautiful the Uyghur folk music is. I am quite picky when it comes to music, but, I was so moved by his performance that I decided to help him make his music available to broader audience. With the help of a few friends, we did it and I am glad we did. Now I listen to Uyghur music everyday on the way to and from work. Not just because I was inlvolved in this project, because it is really good music.

Given the reality of our community, we set the goal of the project as making the artist's music available to public. Of course, commercial success could've helped out the artist who is making a living by hard phisical labor, but he is happy to see his music is enjoyed by the public. As you can imagine, with the new pricing nothing much will be left after the shipping and handling costs.

I can see that you are some one who understands and cares about projects like this. I would greatly appreciate if you could help us to introduce the CD in Australia. If you like,I can mail you some if you email your mailing address to Tudih@aol.com. You can pay after you sell them. If you are intested please contact me.

Thanks in advance,

Turdi
