UAA Calls on China to Release Uyghur Political Prisoners on Eighth Anniversary of Ghulja Massacre

Washington, DC (Feb 4, 2005) - On the eighth anniversary of the Ghulja Massacre, the Uyghur American Association (UAA) calls on the Chinese authorities to rectify the excessive and bloody crackdown of peaceful Uyghur demonstrators, which took place in Ghulja in February 1997, and to immediately and unconditionally release all who were arrested and sentenced relating to this tragedy.
