China's exports are up 23%, its imports 19. China enjoys a trade surplus, its citizens are buying more and more, and its been asked to revamp its electrical sector this week as the country continues to waste energy, mostly in the form of burnt coal. China is seriously contributing to global environmental damage (the greenhouse effect), due to its booming industries and the fact Chinese consumers are, for example, buying twice as many Ford Motor Co. vehicles this year than last.

American business is selling more to China - this fact alone should raise alarm bells to those organizations around the globe concerned with China's human rights record, especially the Uyghur American Association. The United States government (especially the Bush administration) and the American mainstream media continue to focus on the best interests of American business where China is concerned, rather than with that country's gross human rights violations.

The Uyghur question plays a vital part in the story of China's openness and continued reforms, especially within the past 20 years. The price the Uyghur people have paid and continue to pay in the name of Chinese expansionist policies and economic interests / energy needs far outweighs that of the average consumer. Like the Uyghurs, our planet also suffers and things will only get worse as China's energy needs continue to grow and the world becomes ever more dependant on cheaper and cheaper product.

you are only viewing the problem on one side and ONLY blaming China on this problem.
But can't you open your mind and accept that EVERY SINGLE developed country had contributed to environmental degradation when they were in the process of industrialization?
Why only China is blamed for this?
because of the timing!
Western countries did not care about global warming when they were developing. After they get rich, they started to worry about it.
THIS is the fact.
