It is very dissapoting to read the article. The reporter has little understanding of China and Chinese history. Chinese constitution and laws as perfect as any other countries’. However, politics and high ranking Chinese officials always above the law. It has been a long time since all Uyghur who work in government organizations such as schools, hospital, police... and all students including university are not allowed to attend or practise any religious activities in Xinjiang. Uyghur language had been the main language of the region for thousands of years and is now subject to forcible elimination. In the last 30 years, Uyghur lives have changed drastically. People lost their land, house, water, pasture too much to the so called “development” and to migrant Han companies which seek huge profit but ignores the environment. Sustainable Uyghur life styles which produce no household wastage and pollution have been changed giving no choice. Almost no new Uyghur involvement in region’s resource sector such as oil. Open and behind desk job discrimination is evident all over the region. Large scale corruption and police brutality are the other sources of unrest; there hundreds of examples of deaths caused by police torture in detentions.
