It did not take long for the Hong Kongese, who are supposed to belong to the same ethnic group as the Chinese from the mainland, to have a desire to differentiate themselves from them. According to a recent survey, only 17% Hong Kongese consider themselves as Chinese. Considering this revelation, the Chinese have to be totally crazy to expect the Uyghurs and Tibetans to lose their identity to become like them. It is simply evil to force the Uyghurs and Tibetans to become Chinese. The 1.3 billion Chinese are more than this earth can handle. They should've invented mirror instead of paper or the other inventions they so proudly claim. If a professor from the most prestigious Chinese University is like this towards his own ethnic brethrens, you can imagine what it must be like for the Tibetans and Uyghurs who have to put up with the tantrums and whims of the most ignorant and backward segment of the Chinese population who migrate to the lands of Uyghurs and Tibetanswho because they could not make a decent living in their own lands. Now, we have one thing in common with the people of Hong Kong. As to the mainlanders, they have to score yet. We still have nothing in common with them, so much for their claim that we've been living together since the ancient times.

"In Hong Kong, Mainland residents are better known for spitting and littering than they are known for their etiquette. “There is no denying that the manners and etiquette of some visitors from the mainland do not meet the standards set by the local Hong Kong residents. But poor manners are considered only a nuisance,” said Huang Xiangyang, a writer for state-run China Daily, last week in an op-ed column addressing the subway brawl."
