Conference “Uyghur Studies in Kazakhstan: Tradition and Innovation”

The Center of Uyghur Studies, Institute of Oriental Studies, Almaty, plans to hold a Conference “Uyghur Studies in Kazakhstan: Tradition and Innovation” in late September 2005. The Conference will discuss a wide range of problems from a perspective of a traditional and new theoretical and methodological approaches in Uyghur Studies in Central Asia. While the Conference is primarily planned for Central Asian scholars, experts in Uyghur Studies from other regions and countries are also welcome to participate. Since the Conference organizers are not able to cover travel, accommodation and other expenses of participants, those willing to take part in this event are kindly requested to find own sources for funding their participation.

Those interested in participation in the Conference are required to submit short abstracts of their papers to Organizing Committee before July 1, 2006. Materials of the Conference will be published as a separate Volume. Only full electronic versions of papers submitted prior the Conference will be considered for publication.
