The Mujahideen Youth Movement (MYM) claimed responsibility in a written statement released 22 May 2008, saying seven soldiers were killed and others injured.

- Around 1730 local time on 22 May, a remote-controlled explosive device on a bicycle detonated in Khajak Baba area, Kandahar city, Afghanistan, targeting a number of Afghan army vehicles. One Afghan soldier was killed and another injured, according to an army officer.
- On the night of 21 May, an explosive device detonated in Zavodskoi District, Nazran, Ingushetia on Bazorkin Street. One man, believed to be a rebel intending to plant the device, was killed.

One tank was destroyed and four soldiers on board were killed, according to a written statement released by the Taliban on 24 May 2008.
- On 21 May, an explosive device detonated in Beirut Square off of Palestine Street in Baghdad, Iraq. Four civilians were injured.
- On 21 May, a suicide bomber detonated explosives at an Awakening Council center in al-Rutba, al-Anbar Province, Iraq. One guard was killed and four others were injured.
- On 21 May, an explosive device rigged to a parked car detonated at the Kendi thoroughfare in the neighborhood of Harthiyah, Baghdad, Iraq. Several nearby shops and cars were damaged. Four people were injured.
- Around 1500 local time on 21 May, an explosive device rigged to a parked car detonated near the Sa'ah restaurant in Mansour District of Baghdad, Iraq. One civilian was killed and six were injured.
- On 20 May, a remote-controlled roadside explosive device on a bicycle detonated in Kohat, Pakistan, targeting a military vehicle passing by. Six paramilitary personnel and four civilians were injured. A separate report said nine people, including four security personnel, were injured.
- On 20 May, an explosive device in a push cart detonated in Gardez, Paktia Province, Afghanistan. Five civilians were injured. The Taliban claimed responsibility in a written statement released 20 May 2008, saying the device was planted in a vegetable cart. The statement said eight policemen were killed and others were injured.
- At 1500 local time on 20 May, a Taliban suicide bomber detonated explosives in the new administrative building of Bakwa District, Farah Province, Afghanistan. There were "heavy casualties," according to a written statement released by the Taliban on 20 May 2008. A second written statement released by the Taliban on 22 May said two foreign advisers and 30 soldiers were killed.
- On 20 May, a suicide bomber drove a police jeep packed with explosives toward a police base in delaram District, Farah Province, Afghanistan, when he was stopped by the gunfire of police guarding the gate and detonated his explosives. Two police officers, including the one who fired, were slightly injured.
- At 1200 local time on 20 May, Taliban rebels detonated a remote-controlled explosive device planted on a Sararudah District official's vehicle near the center of the District in Paktika Province, Afghanistan. The vehicle was destroyed and seven soldiers, as well as the official, were killed, according to a written statement released by the Taliban on 20 May 2008.
