African Journalists Conclude China Trip
A group of African journalists have concluded its China trip, a visit designed to foster experience in reporting on the Olympic Games.
The five-day trip that ended on Sunday was arranged by the 2008 Beijing International Media Center (BIMC). It included the participation of 57 journalists from 16 African countries.
During their whirlwind visit, the journalists toured the Olympic media centers, scenic spots around the Chinese capital, as well as a port visit to neighbouring Tianjin City.
The working trip also included news gathering activities at the Beijing Olympic Park and the three press centers for the Olympic Games, a BIMC source said.
Other stopovers included the Beijing Urban Planning Exhibition Hall, the Nanchizi historical and cultural protection center near Tian'anmen Square, the recently reopened Qianmen commercial street, the Forbidden City and the Great Wall.
